During a safe, outdoor and masked ‘Thank You’ reception, Insurance company, Crum & Forster gave a significant $20,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Northwest New Jersey (BGCNWNJ) to help support hardship scholarships for local families.
With the COVID-19 pandemic still in full swing, fundraising for non-profits such the BGCNWNJ can be a challenge. Help from generous companies such as Crum & Forster can fill in the gaps left by the cancelation of so many fund-raising events. Members of the staff and Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club in Wayne were on hand to share their gratitude.
“This will be a game-changer in how many scholarships we can award to kids in our area,” said Devon Maloney, the Director of Development and Marketing for the BGCNWNJ. “With so many families affected by job losses, our community needs us now more than ever.
The BGCNWNJ Neighbors in Hardship Scholarship Fund was recently created to lessen the enrollment burden on local families. “This is to help ensure that every child in our community can have access to safe and reliable childcare,” added Maloney.
The scholarship fund has received over 100 individual donations from local community members, but Crum & Forster is the first corporate donor to the fund, according to Maloney.
