Crum & Forster is pleased to introduce our homeowners breakdown coverage.
- Coverage name: Homeowners Equipment Breakdown coverage
- Coverage allowance: $50,000 per occurrence
- Deductible: $500 per occurrence
Homeowners equipment breakdown coverage protects the home appliances and systems you rely on in the event of:
- Mechanical or electrical breakdown
- Artificially generated electrical current
- Rupture, bursting, bulging, implosion or steam explosion
Keep in mind, your current homeowners policy does not include Equipment Breakdown coverage. Thus, we are offering this coverage by endorsement to you current policy for homeowners who desire more comprehensive coverage.
To better understand this coverage, take a look around your home. Do you own equipment that can break either mechanically or electrically? Think about you water heater. It can become over-pressurized and split. Repair and replacement costs can be hefty, maybe even more so because you do not expect breakdowns to happen. This is where homeowners equipment breakdown coverage comes into play. It covers your home equipment, such as your heating and cooling system, electronics, appliances, and more. This will limit your need to buy expensive and not-so-easy to understand warranties, which typically apply to just on piece of equipment and/or are expensive and difficult to manage.
